Publisher Submission Process for She Reads Book Club Consideration

Thank you for your interest in the She Reads Book Club. We are delighted to partner with you in promoting great fiction that sets the standard in today’s industry. Each quarter, the She Reads book club will offer three current titles as featured selections, with a total of twelve books per year. Due to the potential to receive vast numbers of books, we have set a few criteria in place to streamline the process:

Books submitted for consideration must:

1.    Be from a royalty paying traditional publisher. No self published or electronic books will be considered.
2.    Have a unique theme, voice, or premise. Our first selections: Daisy Chain by Mary DeMuth, Shape Of Mercy by Susan Meissner, and Eye of the God by Ariel Allison are great examples of novels that have captured the unique quality we are looking for.

For a novel to be considered by the She Reads selection committee, we need the following information to be sent via email first:

1. A high resolution image of the book cover
2. A paragraph summary of the story
3. A short bio of the author

If we see a book that looks like what we are looking for, we will request it for review.

Authors whose works are selected for She Reads will be expected to contribute:

• an interview
• activities for book clubs that pertain to the novel
• recipes in keeping with the theme or time period of the novel
• a devotion for Proverbs 31 daily devotions
• a conference call with selected readers (pending)

In the past, Proverbs 31 has dealt primarily in nonfiction. We are excited about the potential that exists in expanding into the CBA fiction market. We appreciate your response in working with us to make that happen. It is our goal to reach women through these novels, inviting them to glimpse God’s design for them and participate in His activity through the books they encounter at She Reads.
