We don’t do this often. OK, we’ve never done this. But sometimes a book comes along that is more than a book, it’s an event. It moves an entire generation of readers to become…well, better people. Markus Zusak’s novel THE BOOK THIEF did just that. It’s a novel that made me sit down and cry and I will be forever sad that I can’t read it again for the first time. It is aching and beautiful and so profound I can’t actually put into words what these characters mean to me. And the fact that the movie releases this fall makes me very grateful and a little weepy. So here, my friends, is the trailer. I truly hope you go see this movie. But even more than that, I hope you read the book (if you haven’t already) or buy a copy for a friend.
Question: how did this book make you feel when you read it for the first time?
