Short Blogging Break

76 Comments 31 August 2011

Hi She Reads-ies,

Just a quick note to let you know that things will be a tad silent around here for the remainder of this week. Three of our team members are cleaning debris out of their yards after hurricane Irene plowed through North Carolina. All of us are getting kids back to school (seventeen children total amongst the five of us) and adjusting to our new fall schedules. One of us (Rachel) is teaching at the University of North Carolina. Another is pounding the keyboard in effort to meet the September 1st deadline on her new novel (Marybeth). I am knee deep in website updates despite being illiterate in html and Photoshop.

We will resume our regular posting on Monday, September 5th with a new book club selection and an amazing giveaway. Trust us girls, you’ll be talking about this next book for a long time!

See you soon,

Ariel

As a Washingtonian, I was intrigued with the setting for this story. I enjoyed the video clip with the ferries often seen floating across Puget Sound. I will watch for Sarah’s books in the bookstore.

I’ve allowed chronic pain and the demands of working two part-time jobs to distort my vision. Thank you, Sarah Jio, for the reminder that there are blessings all around me.

Sounds interesting. Would love to win the basket.

I found the idea of this book intriguing, as well as the thought about Christian authors who publish in the general marketplace. I’d like to learn about more of them as I look for good books to read.

I’ve visited often but took the leap this month because of the book chosen. I loved it and have finished it and I am looking forward to her next book. I adore books that grab me and hold until the last page and this one did that for me. I took it to work on my iphone and every quiet moment from patient care or charting I was reading. It was a complete pleasure!
